Board of Finance to Review Jesup Road Bridge Appropriation October 7

The Westport Board of Finance will meet on October 7, 2026 (7:30 p.m., Town Hall auditorium) to consider two major appropriation requests. The primary item is a $172,500 appropriation for design and permitting of the Jesup Road bridge replacement, following damage to the bridge during the September 13 flash flood. The bridge, a critical link from Imperial Avenue to the police station, library, and Levitt Pavilion, was weakened by floodwaters that destroyed structural components. The second request is $176,000 for initial assessment of Coleytown Elementary School. Residents and officials hope for an expedited replacement process.
