Westport experienced severe flash flooding on Sunday, September 13, 2026, when heavy rain and intense thunderstorms dropped 5 to 6 inches of rain after 7 a.m. at rates of 3 to 4 inches per hour. The flooding was described as a 150 to 200-year rainfall event. Emergency crews responded to approximately 120 calls, including 13 rescues from homes and vehicles.
