Jesup Road Bridge Replacement Project

Following severe flash flooding on September 13, 2026, the Jesup Road bridge was damaged and closed. The bridge, built in 1950 with a 12-foot span, was constructed on pillars of stacked granite. The Board of Finance will consider an appropriation of $172,500 on October 7 for design and permitting costs. The project, estimated to take 12 to 18 months, requires coordination between multiple state and local regulatory bodies including the Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Conservation Commission, Planning & Zoning Commission, and Architectural Review Board.
