Compo Road Sidewalk Improvements - Two-Phase Project

Westport received state approval for sidewalk improvements on Compo Road South under the Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program. The project will fill missing sidewalk segments, primarily from Post Road to Baker Avenue, and completely reconstruct existing sidewalks in terrible condition with major mismatches. Construction was hoped to start spring 2026. A major related project—a $10 million sidewalk construction initiative on Compo Road North from Post Road East to Main Street—remains pending state approval. The government shutdown slowed approval, but officials hoped for authorization.
